Earlyon Technologies Ltd conducts computer-based Pre-Admission screening exercise for Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin which processed over 25,000 candidates seeking admission to the institution.
Kwara State Polytechnic is one of the foremost and most popular State-owned educational institution in Nigeria. The Pre-Admission Screening Exercise includes a mandatory computer-based examination for all candidates seeking admission to the Polytechnic for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
For the Pre-Admission Screening Exercise for the 2013/2014 Academic Session, the institution contracted Earlyon Technologies Ltd to handle the procurement and installation of all the required computing equipment which consisted of over 250 computers, 2 HP Servers and Wireless Networking Equipment to be setup at the institution’s campus along Old Jebba Road, Ilorin.
The company was also required to deploy its per-assessment candidate screening solution utilizing 2D scanners to prevent impersonation and to utilize its high performance Earlyon Computer-Based Assessment software solution capable of handling thousands of concurrent test takers for the conduct and grading of the Pre-Admission Screening Examination. The candidate examination results were required to be made available same-day on the institution’s online portal and multiple test-taking was to be disallowed automatically.
Previously, the Computer-Based Pre-Admission Screening Exercise had been divided for ND and HND candidates and handled at the Mini and Main Campuses of the Polytechnic by two separate contracted companies. It is thus a testimony to the belief of the management of the institution in the capabilities of Earlyon Technologies Ltd, to have the company handle both the ND and HND screening at the same time and the same location at the Main Campus of the institution.
The aforementioned belief was definitely justified as the company was able to complete the exercise excellently and without any negative incidence in less than 2 weeks with over 25,000 candidates sitting for the Pre-Admission Screening Examination, a delivery time which equated to 50% of the time it took the institution to conduct the same exercise the previous year.
